David Hogg represents the best of our youth with integrity, insight, courage and commitment. He has framed his message as a desperately needed response to challenging the old guard, comfortable in their assumptions of maintaining the status quo. We cannot allow this to continue as our beloved Democracy is destroyed by ignorance, greed and ennui. The concerned and committed of younger generations are essential if we are to survive. Go David! You are amazing as are young legislators like Maxwell Frost. As an elder who as witnessed the machinations of the power elite, I am exited that the gauntlet will be picked up by young men of action committed to re-energizing our faith in the proud tradition of democracy.

I fully agree. David Hogg embodies the integrity, courage, and urgency this moment demands. As an elder who's seen the power elite protect the status quo at all costs, I'm inspired to see young leaders like David and Maxwell Frost rise. Our democracy depends on this next generation refusing to wait their turn. Go David. Go Maxwell. We believe in you.

I think Hogg’s stance is the start of something important as far as demanding effectiveness from lawmakers. Certainly the DNC and all Democrats need to be better with new media too.

I’d really like to see him aim to widen the playing field into redder districts and redder states. In the long run, that’s essential.

The Old Guard needs to go. They are wholly unsuited to meet the existential threat facing our country.

Agree! Love how threatened James Carville seems by David Hogg’s focus on transforming the party. The power broker wants to keep a throttle on things and hang onto power. Go David!

I’m a millennial who grew up 2 miles from Columbine and ran cross country meets on their campus. I graduated from my neighboring high school in 1999, just 3 weeks after that unconscienable tragedy. I remember our school administrators would NOT let any students wear the class pin or small ribbon of Columbine HS on our gowns in support of our friends and their family in that community - threatening students that it was too political and that if we did so - our diplomas would not be released to us.

All of us wore them anyway. It signaled to me even then that the value of children’s lives were nothing to school district administrators or local government officials of their age. Bureaucratic order was more important to them every time.

20 years later, I watched the day David was stalked outside the congressional hearings building by MTG. I saw and I will throw my weight behind endorsing and voting for this guy in whatever he wants to run for in the future. He’s correct. The seats can’t just be turned. The entire floor has to be ripped up and completely rearranged.

How refreshing and encouraging to see new leadership like Mr. Hogg stand up and make his voice heard. I’m so tired of the sclerotic neoliberal generation of Democrats who drifted us into this mess; they aren’t the ones to get us out of it. Go for it, Mr. Hogg!

I support him wholeheartedly. "institutional inertia" is our big stale problem.
